Our family medicine providers and staff help educate and encourage Vancouver WA patients and community members to share responsibility for their health and wellness.

As members of the greater Vancouver community, we are committed to providing high quality, cost effective family medical care for our patients.

As an independent physician-owned group providing family medicine in the Vancouver-Camas area, we continue to maintain staff privileges within the local hospitals and to work with Clark County agencies & organizations. Our providers continue to strive for the highest level of care for their patients and will refer patients to specialists based upon the patient's needs and upon a patient's referral request. Our providers know many of the specialists in Vancouver and communicate with them on a regular basis regarding patient cases.

Our History

The Family Wellness Center, PC was established in Vancouver in 1995 by Susan Hughes, MD. Our first office location was in Cascade Park and then our clinic moved to the current Columbia Tech Center location in 2002. Throughout our years in Vancouver, we have grown from just one primary care provider to six providers and an experienced staff of over thirty employees.

To celebrate our 10th anniversary in August 2005, our clinic sponsored a health and wellness fair for the community. With the generous support of local businesses and organizations, activities included: a blood drive, cholesterol testing, safety demos, bicycle helmet giveaways, Fire Truck visit from VFD for the kids, discounted pet ID chips, and massage therapy.

Our Future

In 2007 we implemented a more efficient electronic medical records (EMR) program and eliminated our paper chart system as a service to our patients and referring physicians.

FWC sponsored the first Portland-To-Coast walk relay team in 2006 which has continued to promote employee and patient health & wellness.

Our clinic is continually updating our facility, services, technology, and equipment to offer our patients more onsite testing and procedure options.

We now have a dispensing pharmacy where patients may choose to pick up their prescriptions right after their office visit. In addition, our providers are very supportive of patients' requests for referrals to specialists outside of the community.
